Ms. KristaMs. Krista Teacher at Kids Junction Madison

Education
I graduated in December of 2011 from Iowa State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Child, Adult, and Family Services and a Minor in English. My passion for children stems from my love of making a child laugh and showing them that they are important. Every child has an important story and I love encouraging children to grow!

Experience
I started babysitting when I was 14 years old. In high school, I was a nanny during the summer. After graduating I worked as a barista, but then transitioned into a center as an infant teacher. I worked as a nanny for an infant girl and then as a preschool assistant. I’ve worked with ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. After working as an infant teacher for two years in my last center, I decided to move to Madison, looking for new adventures and opportunities!

Personal
In my free time, I enjoy reading, cross-stitching, making blankets, writing, and spending time with friends. I grew up in Ames, Iowa and am really looking forward to exploring Wisconsin and the new places!

I then took on a nannying job for three boys who were ages 6, 8, and 10, plus my then 3-year-old daughter. From there, I accepted a lead position at Kids Junction in the Sweet Peas room.  I then took a year and a half off to stay at home with my daughter before returning to Kids Junction!

Personal
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and daughter, cooking and baking,  being a co-leader for my daughter’s girl scout troop, and watching my daughter swim, play soccer, do ballet, and play baseball. I also enjoy crafting and scrapbooking.
