Ms. Katelyn – BearsMs. Katelyn - Preschool Teacher

I graduated from Edgewood College in 2020 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education.

I have been working with children starting at 13 years old when I started babysitting. Since then I’ve worked in classrooms as a teachers aid, participated in a big buddy program, assistant taught at 2 different daycares, coordinated and early childhood children ministry program, and nannied. I worked at Kids Junction part time towards the end of my college career and really enjoyed it so I’m excited to be back as a full time teacher.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends and family, watching movies while eating a good snack, going to a park to hammock and read, play volleyball, and thrift shopping.

When I started working in Early Childhood in the Late 1970’s there was not much available in the education department. Women were just starting to join the workforce in bigger numbers. Over the years I have taken a multitude of classes and have a Early
Childhood Administrators Credential.

I have been working in Early Childhood since the mid 1980’s and my favorite age group are the three year olds. I also spent 6 years on the mission field. I lived in Australia for a year and was able to travel the world.

I enjoy learning about different cultures. I spend time reading about cultures around the world and watching documentaries. I also enjoy hiking and road trips.
