I am currently at Madison Area Technical College pursuing my associate’s degree in early childhood education. I will be graduating in the next few years. Most recently, I’ve been helping different families around Madison with childcare. I’ve also worked with children from newborn to 3 years old through SSM Health Childcare Center as well as Meeting House Nursery School. I’ve also worked at a high school through the AVID Program. My favorite color is light or pastel blue. I love all pastel colors. In my free time I spend a lot of time with my friends and cousins. I also enjoy playing volleyball and going on hikes and trail walks.

I received my Assistant and Lead Teacher Certificates while attending Madison East High School. I then went on to Madison Area Technical College and received my Infant & Toddler certificate, along with having a scholarship through the T.E.A.C.H. program which is how I attended Northeast Wisconsin Technical College to further my education in the early childhood education field. I have over 20 years of childcare and early childhood experience and plan on having many years to come! During my free time, I enjoy shopping, cleaning, listening to music, and spending lots of time outdoors as well as camping with friends and family.

I graduated from Abundant Life Christian School in 2015. My mom had an in-home daycare for most of my childhood, so I have been around kids for most of my life. I also worked at Campus for Kids Daycare for a little over 5 years. I love Jesus, people, and laughing. In my free time I love doing activities through my church, crocheting, and hanging out with my niece.

In 2021 I started working as a floater and began my basic classes to become a center caregiver. After a few months I was promoted to teacher for infants ages 0 to 12 months old. In that time, I enrolled at the University of Wisconsin – Platteville to obtain my Infant & Toddler Credential. I graduated in 2022 and was promoted again to a 1 to 2 year old teacher. In my free time I love being with my family, doing crafts with my little son and running outdoors in the summer.

My name is Gabriela Vasquez. I was born in Michoacán, Mexico, and in 1994, I made the decision to move the United States with my two-year old son. We arrived in California to reunite with my husband. In 2000, my husband decided to come to Madison, Wisconsin, to work in construction. My work has always involved children – first in my own home, then at the Head Start DCPC center. I then worked at Cultural Kids before finding a home at Kids Junction, where I feel very happy. The children and staff are very kind, and we make a great team.

I got my cosmetology license in 2024 and now I’m pursuing a career in childcare and be able to teach and learn from the little ones. Ever since I was little I had to take care of my siblings and as I was growing up I would take care of all my cousins and siblings from babies up until they were about 3 to 4 years old. In my free time and when the weather is good, I love going hiking and swimming and paying with my dog Bruno.
